While abbreviated nicknames are often a term of endearment, if you donโ€™t like the shorter version of your childโ€™s name, it can be frustrating when people use it.

In that case, you might want to choose a name thatโ€™s hard to shorten. Most names can be condensed down to an initial if someone really canโ€™t face sounding out those extra syllables, but the following names will see them struggle.
